Civilization Is Barbaric

~Poetry~

Time and time again proven
Written in our histories blood
Shed again and again our kin
Walls built of the body’s dead
Towers of babel again rise up
Always falling under its own
Built on a weakened foundation
Slavery, greed, deceit, hatred
A desire to hold god’s own will
And wield it as if a great weapon
In our ignorance point it at god
We desire your power! Yield to us
Slitting our own damned throats
Condemned to the hell we made
The price to possess knowledge
That might have remained forbid
Had we naught began in thought
Rather stayed in our awareness
For a conscious being could never
Act upon our mother as we have
To rape and ruin indiscriminately
Act upon our kindred as we have
To smash the skulls of thy brothers
Act against the very nature of life
Relinquish that which wasn’t yours
Return now to the Garden of Eden

    1. Thank you for sharing that! I think its very true. It is hard to learn lessons though. Much easier to chase distractions and titillations. In the short term at least.
