A ruined landscape reaches out into smoky skies.

Foundations

~Poetry~

We have built our civilization
Grand and vast it’s spread
Built monuments to our greatness
Self proclaimed superiority
So called in our great arrogance
Ignorant of the true god of creation
The source of all that there is
Call it as your preference cast
Every title refers the same being
Creator
That which put us into motion
Breathed consciousness into us
That which set stars to night sky
And paints each palette of colour
In every beautiful stroke of life
Which arises unique for each of us
They which bestowed to we each
The gift of creation planted within
So we may partake also in creating
And be as the image of our creator
Until Sin
That one original disobedience
To grasp for sweet forbidden fruit
Greedy for the power of knowledge
That we may judge good from evil
To be judge, jury, and to execute
Any which should be seen as evil
One word set against another
Cain slew his own kin in fresh hate
Soaking the seeds of the garden
Each new generation reaps
The sins begotten of the father
Foundation
So it is, with this set in our hearts
We built from there a foundation
Lies stacked each by each placed
Decades do pass to centuries
And each year the deceit grown
Upon precocious footing built
Each new son raising up the mantle
Into a great conquest of destruction
And so creation lost, removed
Evicted of our own given free will
Separated now too from creator
Exiled from the paradise garden
Hell
Overlayed upon Edens paradise
Man detached from the true source
Set out to conquer that lost creation
Ignorant of being that which is sought
One small part of a larger creation
This knowledge willfully ignored
In favour of conquest and glory
So eternal life is forfeited to death
And we now cursed enslaved by toil
The knowledge of good and evil
A deep root of our original sin
Woven into the foundation of the thing
Structures built atop doomed to fall
